I have a wife. That is not the dilemma.
I work 40 hours a week at a job that pays enough, but that takes me away from my wife. She works 7:30-3:30 mon-friday. I work 4-midnight. Once in a while, we will pass each other on the highway. This is significant interaction for us.
Anyways, I have an opportunity to work for a church, getting paid for up to 10 hours a week. I desperately want to quit my job that takes me away from my wife. But I do not think that 10 hours a week would suffice for my husbandly duty of supplying for my family, so I’m thinking about also working part time in masonry. This is seasonally unstable, but enjoyable for me.
The only reason I’m writing this blog is that I want people to tell me it’s okay to do this. I am looking for encouragement. So if you think it would be foolish of me to work 2 part time jobs so that I can see my wife, please don’t reply to this. I am only kidding. But seriously, don’t reply.

I think you know what’s right. Come work and be a man again.

Pray about it……then follow the Lord’s leading. If He is in the decision, then all will be fine. If you take this step of faith, you might be surprised what he might bring your way!
